The aim of the "IMPRESSION CONCRETE" project is to realize large-format concrete 3D printing having in mind that the current digital transformations have a huge impact on our society.
On the one hand technological developments such as 3D printing are getting common. The machines have been expensive until now and were limited to a small scale. They are now becoming the flagships of prototyping worldwide in more and more ambitious dimensions.
On the other hand, the idea of collaborative innovation is an indication for the profound changes in our economical and industrial patterns.

The current project falls entirely into the framework of this digital eco-system.
As the founding President of the French Robotics Association “EOLIPYLE” and driven by my passion for these technologies, I have specialized in the connected objects design.
After having organised 3D printing workshops at the French “Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture” (School for Architecture) in Paris and participated as a TEDx speaker with the talk "What if we printed the future?", I wanted to take my experience a step forward, from idea to action, and design a practicle prototype!

"IMPRESSION CONCRETE ", the concept presented below, is based on my work that I began in early 2014.
First demonstrations of my machine are held at NUMA (Digital Incubator) and the “Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie de la Villette”(Interactive Museum for Technology and Science) in Paris since May 2014.
In addition to applications in the field of architecture, the "IMPRESSION CONCRETE "machine can be used for applications in many industries.
Therefore this project seems to be perfect to demonstrate the added value of manufacturing technical pieces by concrete 3D printing versus conventional methods.
